My Professional Background
I graduated from Valdosta State University with a Masters of Criminal Justice degree. I began my counseling career working with the “at risk” population of families and children. I soon realized I needed to broaden my scope of practice; so I returned to the university and attained my Masters of Social Work degree. I spent the next three years completing the post-graduate and licensure process to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
My work has taken me on many paths. I served as a Behavioral Health Consultant at Kings Bay Health Clinic. I offered Medical Social Work in Hospice and Health Care. I ran the Behavioral Health program and was a Therapist at a county health department. I also had a private practice in my community.
I've endured many life experiences and have worn many hats in my personal life and in my field of practice. Overall, this has provided me with valuable insight into understanding mental and behavioral health needs one might face in our sometimes chaotic life.
Life is a journey of ups and downs, twist and turns, and we find ourselves constantly making adjustments and changes. That part is what I'm here for. I look forward to the opportunity to sit and listen, explore, and help guide you through the journey of finding your… Sound Mind.
